The Chester Municipal Chamber of Commerce has announced that its new website ( www.chesterns.com) is ready for visitors. The website, a joint effort of the chamber and the Municipality of the District of Chester, has been in development for four years, with chamber president Elaine LeBlanc at the helm. Businesses and individuals throughout the municipality donated pictures and content for the website. Tue. The site, found at www.chesterns.com, was launched in mid-February. The intention to build a new site was first made public at the chamber’s annual general meeting in November. A new, up-to-date site became necessary after membership in the chamber ballooned from 35 members to over 200 within the last five years.Although the site is on-line, it’s still being tweaked.“It’s going to be an evolving thing,” said Angela Jessome, executive assistant for the chamber. “It’s a wonderful site and it’s the basis for something we can add to.” The web site will serve a dual purpose, servicing both the public and chamber members.“This web site is for tourists and for the business community,” Ms Jessome said.The web site will not only contain local business information, but local photos and information as well.At the recent November general meeting, chamber president Elaine LeBlanc told those in attendance the new web site will “put us on the international map. posted on 03/05/08 www.southshorenow.ca |
