Great web sites for information are Birding Nova Scotia  Lunenburg County has an abundance of birdwatching sites. Among the recommended inland areas are the abandoned rail trail in Mahone Bay; Card Lake Park, north of Chester; and Long Hill, also in Mahone Bay. But, if you want to get a bit of coastal flavour and salty air in your birdwatching diet, Back Oler Farms in Garden Lots, Blue Rocks, Stonehurst, Heckmans Island, Maders Cove, Second Peninsula, Crescent Beach, Petite Riviere, Green Bay, Broad Cove, Cherry Hill and Brooklyn, in Queens County, are among the possibilities. All locations are within an easy drive from Chester and Area.
