Whether it’s the soothing serenity of an undulating ocean current washing against the shore, or the excitement of some beach volleyball fun under the sun, you’ll find the beach of your dreams along our coastlines. Visit our beaches, including Freda's Beach, East River Beach, Bayswater Beach and near by Queensland all renowned beautiful views and excellent swimming. Although not large, this supervised beach is one of the most popular on the South Shore. The warm air and sand draw large crowds, so arrive early on the hot days to find a parking spot.

We also have community lakes where young and old can find a spot to take a refreshing dip on a hot day!

Card Lake - Chester, 17 km (10 mi.) north of Hwy 103, Exit 8. A small park under a canopy of mature softwood trees on the edge of Card lake. The small beach provides an opportunity for a quick dip, or you can launch a canoe or small boat to explore the lake.

Graves Island Provincial Park- A picturesque picnic area and camping park on an island in Mahone Bay, featuring saltwater shoreline with picnic tables scattered through open areas. More Info
