More than half a million for Chester area

More than half a million dollars has been earmarked for recreation investment in the Chester District by the provincial government.
The department of Health Promotion and Protection made the announcement on May 5 at Church Memorial Park (CMP) in Chester. The biggest investment will be $350,000 for CMP's Eleanor Pew Morris Memorial Rink that will be used to purchase a new electrical system and rink refrigeration unit. Other investments include $17,000 for Chester District Elementary School, $25,000 for Gold River Western Shore School and $133,820 for New Ross Consolidated School for new playgrounds. The Chester Church Memorial Park also received an investment of $350,000 for renovations to the ice arena and equipment upgrades. St. Stephen's Parish Community Centre received a $50,000 investment to build a 3,000-square-foot community centre in Chester.
